Tritonus Guitar Trio is a Hungarian guitar ensemble comprising of Levente Molnár, Gergely Szurgyi and Bálint Varga. The Trio first played together under this name on 10 January 2015. That year all three members were attending Széchenyi István University in Győr, Hungary in the class of Ede Roth and Balázs Arnóth.
The Trio regularly performs in Hungary and abroad alike. They regularly participate at Hungarian and international competition with excellent results. They were awarded 1st prize at both the Győr University Competition and the National Szeged Guitar Competition. In November 2016 they received 1st prize at the L. Luthier Contest in chamber music category in Bratislava. In 2018 the Trio was awarded the Audience Award of the Braga Chamber Music Competition and the 1st prize of the Bratislava Guitar Competition in chamber music category. In the same they the ensemble won 2nd prize in Louisville at the renowned Guitar Foundation of America competition in chamber music category. This was followed by a 1st prize at the same competition in 2019 in Miami.
The Trio plays pieces from various eras, and they are also active in creating their own transcripts. Their objective is to perform pieces, which are rarely played on three guitars.
